Blackened Salmon Caesar

Prep time
Total time

Use 1 teaspoon of Blackened Seasoning Blend per 4 ounces of protein. This blend is not hot/spicy. If you'd like to turn up the heat, add more cayenne pepper, buy a hotter variety of cayenne, or add red pepper flakes.

Serves: 2 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or your oil of choice)
  • 2 salmon filets (we usually get about 5-6 oz filets)
  • 2-3 teaspoons Blackened Seasoning Blend
  • 1 large or two small heads of romaine lettuce, chopped
  • Caesar Lover's Salad Dressing, to taste
  • parmesan cheese (for the top)
  • salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
  1. Make sure your salmon fillets are patted dry. Apply the seasoning blend evenly to the flesh-side (not the skin-side) of the salmon.
  2. Heat up your fat of choice in a sauté pan over medium heat.
  3. Place the salmon seasoned-side down in the hot pan and do not move it around or flip it until 3-5 minutes have passed. (May be more or less depending on how thick your filet is.)
  4. Flip and cook 3-5 more minutes, until the center still appears slightly pink.
  5. While the salmon is cooking, in a large bowl combine romaine, caesar dressing, salt and pepper. Toss to combine. (If I have time I even plate the salad, top it with parmesan and clean up! So after dinner all I have left to do is clean the pan I cooked the salmon in, and toss our plates into the dishwasher!)
  6. Plate your salad, add parmesan, and top with the salmon. ALL HAIL CAESAR.
